Hello everybody!

I am Maurizio Petrone, 24 years old, from Italy (I live not much far from Milan).

If you can read italian, you may want to read my blog about SEO and Web Marketing

My main job consists in developing web sites, and all the things concerned (what ones? These are, more or less, this blog’s topics). Currently, I’m working primarily on the developement of my most important web project at all. More details will come within 2006, I hope.

Let’s say something else about myself…

Geekness

My interest for computers takes origin many years ago: I was six years old when I’d put my hands on a Commodore 64. Thence, I imagined myself as a computer programmer, when I would grow up. Long time has passed, and now I am proud to call myself a geek. But I do not pretend to be a guru.

I can be wrong sometimes, so you are always encouraged to correct, enhance and confute what I feel to write here.

Interests and lifestyle

Like most of you, I have a variety of interests (beside that ones concerning my geekness, of course).

• I love music: I am listening at something almost continuously. I say, talking about music, that «it’s easiest to say what I don’t like, instead of what I like»
• Some says I’m lazy, but the thruth is that I need, rather than I like, relax myself. It’s absolutely necessary to me in order to keep equilibrium and stability.
  As many people are really surprised of my huge calmness and patience, as many others call me “slacker“: they say I’m “lazy” and often “idle“. Next time you heard this, say them I’m meditating.
• Other things I like or I am interested in, in random order: photography (I am an amateur), cinema, discussions about society and politics, travels (the more low-budget and not organized, the better), reading books (my favourite one being Immortality, by Milan Kundera), beer culture, parties and related (er, you know…)

Things I loathe

• Television: this is mainly because I live in Italy. If you know Italian TV, this is self-explaining.
• Trend, fashion and consumism. I am myself, with or without dresses, and despite of them. I do not need accessories other than my sunglasses (wich are old and wich brand I do not know) and my Usb Mp3 player.
  Additionally, I do not tend to change my preference and attitude about almost everything as the wind changes.
• Racism. No, really. I can’t stand people saying «I am not racist, but… (put some racial prejudice here)».
  Everyone can be faultly, individually or in group. But having prejudices is one of the worst faults.
